NPO Zappelin: A Fun and Educational App for Kids
NPO Zappelin is a free iPhone app developed by Stichting Nederlandse Publieke Omroep. Designed for children aged two to six, this app allows kids to learn and play with their favorite Zappelin friends. With NPO Zappelin, children can watch videos, play with Ollie, create beautiful drawings, and sing along with Fenna.
One of the key features of NPO Zappelin is the parental control options. Parents can set a time limit for their child's usage of the app through the secure parental menu. Additionally, the app provides a recent content feature, allowing parents to see the ten most recently viewed items by swiping left in the content slider.
The app also addresses common troubleshooting issues. To prevent high internet costs, NPO Zappelin only allows downloading or streaming when connected to Wi-Fi by default. However, parents can change this setting in the parental menu if desired. If a child's favorite program is not available, it may be due to rights restrictions. Furthermore, the app saves games and drawings to the device, allowing offline viewing. If the device's memory becomes full, parents can easily clear the app's storage through the parental menu.
Unfortunately, NPO Zappelin is only available for Dutch accounts, as the app does not have rights to offer its videos outside of the Netherlands.
